Hearing Tests
Full Diagnostic Hearing Assessment
This is our standard hearing test at Solo Audiology and Hearing. Yes, that's right - a full diagnostic hearing assessment is our standard!
If you book in for a Private or Government (Hearing Services Program) hearing test with Solo Audiology and Hearing, this is the assessment you will receive.
This covers a detailed assessment of your ear health, hearing thresholds, speech understanding in quiet and noise, and processing ability. A detailed report is also provided.
If amplification or hearing aids are recommended, this can be discussed in the same appointment. See our Hearing Aids page for more information.
We created this comprehensive test battery as our standard assessment, because it tells us all the information we need to make an accurate and individual diagnosis and rehabilitation plan.
Hearing tests are more than simply pressing a button, a good hearing assessment looks at the entire auditory system.
WorkCover WA and Occupational Health and Safety
Solo Audiology and Hearing is an authorised audiology provider for WorkCover WA.
This means if you require a hearing test for work or in an attempt to make a noise-induced hearing loss claim, it can be booked in with us.
These will typically be performed when starting a job in a noisy environment or as subsequent hearing tests while working in noisy environments. They are often paid for and coordinated with your employer.
You will be required to stay in quiet environments for 16 hours prior to testing. The testing requirements are outlined by WorkCover WA. Learn more here: WorkCover WA - NIHL Information for Workers.
Department of Veteran Affairs
For Veterans, the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) provide DVA Gold Cards and DVA White Cards.
DVA Gold Card holders are automatically eligible for fully subsidised hearing assessments via the Hearing Services Program (HSP).
However, DVA White Card holders require a hearing or tinnitus specification before meeting eligibility for HSP. We can help perform this initial hearing assessment as part of your application.

Industrial Medical Hearing Tests
Industrial medical often include hearing tests. Industries requiring a hearing test component include:
Rail,
Diving, and
CASA - aviation.
The hearing test criteria is often outlined by the governing body of your particular industry. Solo Audiology and Hearing then complete the test and return the results and report where required.
Paediatric Hearing Tests
Due to equipment, we are able to test children who are able to complete the adult-style testing. Typically, this is from around age 7 but can vary from child to child. Please note, we do not provide CAPD assessments.
Children and young adults under the age of 26 with a diagnosed permanent or long-term hearing loss will be referred to Hearing Australia.
